Victor Spinetti Memorial

LONDON EVENING STANDARD

Sir Paul McCartney made an appearance at a memorial service for Victor Spinetti, the Welsh actor, author, poet and raconteur,
at St Paul's Church in Covent Garden yesterday.
"We used to play a game together" said the ex-Beatle.
"We would choose a cloud in the sky and make it go away.
This morning I saw a cloud but it didn't go away.
It got bigger and bigger and suddenly I realised ... it's Victor!"

Ringo Starr wasn't there but sent wishes for peace and love.

With a cast of 40 plus two pianists and an organist,
this was the largest Memorial Celebration to have been hosted at
The Actors' Church and the Spinetti family should be thanked for making it possible.

Countless celebrities volunteered their services and some had to stand aside
to enable newcomers to the profession to participate, as Victor would have wished.
There was no official photographer and sadly the images below do not show the full cast.
